Canon Camera - Running CHDK

I've stumbled across CHDK for Canon cameras, and as far as the capabilities it gives you for a proprietary non-installing/temporary firmware update...i'm quite amazed.

Let me first start off with, I just installed it on my S2IS a few days ago, and am currently blindly trying to set it up with trial and error. (Another words = a lot of crap pics)

Has anyone else here played with it? I need to read up more on shutter speeds, f.stops, and whatnot to fully understand how to get the settings i want, but thought I'd toss this out there.

I've been out of it for a bit too. I'm still trying to figure out what i need to know to get the good results for various situtations.

if you look on the main page where it list where it has been mentioned in the news, they list a few other sites with dumbed-down explainations of some of the features

From Hack-a-day:
http://hackaday.com/2008/05/27/how-t...era-with-chdk/

I've become extremely interested in the high speed shutter mixed with motion detection (cause my sight to response time is slow). Also this HDR mess looks very interesting as far as making dramatic, almost surreal art type pictures. Photomatix: http://www.hdrsoft.com/gallery/index.php

Attached is a pic of a dirty bowl in my sink, my first decent shot.

Something I learned, fast shutter speed requires the flash. I'm not a big fan of the flash, superhero or otherwise, but it's a must have for the pic to be bright enough
